Historical Seminar Celebrates the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence
The Yemeni Community and the Sudanese Community in Indonesia, in cooperation with the Yemeni Students Union in Indonesia, organized a historical seminar entitled “Indonesia: From Colonialism to Independence.” The seminar highlighted Indonesia’s struggle for independence and the contributions of Arab Indonesians to the national movement.

The Yemeni Community and the Sudanese Community in Indonesia, in cooperation with the Yemeni Students Union in Indonesia, organized a historical seminar entitled “Indonesia: From Colonialism to Independence” to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the independence of Indonesia.
The seminar examined the historical stages of foreign colonialism in Indonesia and the long struggle of the Indonesian people to achieve independence and establish a sovereign nation. Through a series of presentations, participants were introduced to key events, figures, and milestones that shaped Indonesia’s modern history.
The event featured presentations by Zaki Al-Nahdi and Nabil Hayazea, who discussed the role of Arab Indonesians and their contributions to Indonesia’s independence movement. The speakers highlighted the social, cultural, and political involvement of Arab communities in supporting national aspirations and participating in the development of Indonesian society.
The seminar provided a platform for historical reflection and cultural exchange, enabling participants to gain a deeper understanding of Indonesia’s journey toward independence and nation-building.
The event contributed to strengthening historical awareness, promoting appreciation for the sacrifices made during the independence struggle, and highlighting the positive role of Arab communities in Indonesia’s history and development.
